Proper care of your running shoes is very important and helps to:
1. Comfort 2. Durability
Here are some basic tips for proper care:
Storage: Store your shoes in a cool place. If possible, avoid leaving them in hot places, such as in direct sunlight or in the trunk of your car during the summer.
Care and Cleaning: To clean your shoes, use a soft cloth, cold water, and mild detergent or a special cleaner for athletic shoes. Dry the shoes in a cool place. It’s best to stuff wet shoes with newspaper and remove the insole(s). This helps maintain the shape and speeds up drying. It dries even faster if you replace the newspaper after a few hours. Never dry shoes on a radiator or with a hair dryer, as this causes the upper material to lose its suppleness. Result: reduced lifespan and comfort.
Breaking in your shoes: Always break in your shoes first so they can mold to your feet before you use them for intense training. A little Vaseline or milking grease helps with problem areas. Don’t run a marathon or a long training route right away in brand-new shoes. Wearing special running socks greatly increases comfort. To extend the life of the shoes and train your feet, it’s best to get a second pair and wear them alternately.
We hope you enjoy your running shoes and have many great runs.
